Exposição Institucional: Museu Oscar Niemeyer (MON)

Eder Santos

Eder Santos presents the exhibition “From That Which Escapes Us” at the Oscar Niemeyer Museum (MON), in Room 11, curated by Luiz Gustavo Carvalho.

Internationally recognized for developing projects that blend visual arts, cinema, theater, video, and new media, the artist brings together 12 works in the exhibition that trace an overview of his diverse production, in a space that investigates the relationships between image, memory, technology, and perception.

The exhibition transforms Room 11 into a proposal for experiences, in which images and sounds converse with the architecture and invite the visitor to explore the exhibition in a non-linear way. More than a retrospective or a collection of works, the exhibition proposes an encounter between different times and languages.

Outside the Museum, the video installation “Illuminated” reaches and intrigues the public in the outdoor area. The work promotes an interesting dialogue between the exhibition and the project “MON without Walls – Art in the Open Air” and the architecture of the building.

“The first exhibition of the Minas Gerais artist at the Oscar Niemeyer Museum brings together video installations and video sculptures created between 2003 and 2024 around this fluid condition,” explains the curator. “Letters, bottles, wires, aquariums and seas traverse the exhibition space and establish a fluid geography, in which the border ceases to be understood as a watertight line of separation and becomes a space of passage, in which every trajectory also includes the possibility of getting lost,” says Carvalho.
