Biography

Froiid is a multidisciplinary artist and curator, Master in Visual Arts from the Postgraduate Program in Arts (PPGARTES/UEMG), graduated in Degree in Fine Arts from Escola Guignard (UEMG), winner of the SESC Arte award at the 22nd Sesc_Videobrasil Biennial ( 2023), winner of the Décio Noviello Prize for Visual Arts 2020, by the Clóvis Salgado Foundation, nominated for the PIPA Prize (2022/2023), was a resident of Bolsa Pampulha (2022). Since 2014, Froiid has been building a diverse production, which includes games, installations, objects, videos, photographs, and sound works. By experimenting with game rules he seeks to overcome the dualism between norm and freedom, institution and creation, individual and society.

Recent solo exhibitions include: Boi de Piranha, Brazilian Zodiac – Rodrigo Ratton Galeria (2021), It's time for the jaguar to drink water – Décio Noviello Prize for Visual Arts, Galeria Genesco Murta, Palácio das Artes, Fundação Clóvis Salgado, (2020/2021) , Where the Owl Sleeps – BDMG Cultural Art Gallery – Minas Gerais Development Bank, (2019/2020).

Recent collective exhibitions include: Making the modern, building the contemporary: Rubem Valentim - Inhotim (2023), 22nd Sesc_Videobrasil Biennial, Memory is an island of editing, SESC 24 de Maio (2023), BRAZILIAN ART: the MAP na Casa collection Fiat de Cultura (2023), Dos Brasis: art and black thought in Brazil, SESC Belenzinho (2023), Babélica, Memorial Minas Gerais Vale (2023), Botar fé, Pampulha Art Museum, Museum of Arts and Crafts and Viaduto das Arte, Belo Horizonte (2022/2023), 4X5 - Galeria Marilia Razuk (2021).

The artist has works in important public collections such as: BDMG Cultural (Development Bank of Minas Gerais), Pampulha Art Museum and IHGB (Brazilian Historical and Geographic Institute).
