Lives and works between São Paulo, Brazil and London, England

Painter, engraver, draughtsman. Luzzati attended the Instituto per L'Arte e il Restauro in Florence, Italy, from 1982 to 1983. Her first solo show took place at the São Paulo Cultural Centre in 1990, for which she was awarded the prize at the National Fine Arts Salon the following year. In 1994, she was selected to represent Brazil at the 22nd São Paulo International Arts Biennial. Her work is characterised by the fact that it does not fit into the recurring categorisation in painting between figurative and abstract, since it articulates the representation of the object (usually natural landscapes) with the expression of everything that can be abstracted from it.

Mariannita's works are part of important national and international collections, including: Fundação Itaú Cultural in São Paulo; Fundação Biblioteca Nacional in Rio de Janeiro; Fundação Cultural in Curitiba; Fundação Padre Anchieta - TV Cultura in São Paulo; Museu de Arte in Brasília; Machida City Museum of Graphic Arts in Tokyo; Pinacoteca do Estado in São Paulo; Centro Cultural Dragão do Mar in Fortaleza; Instituto Figueiredo Ferraz in Ribeirão Preto; the Musei Civici Foundation in Lecco and MIDA - Scontrone in Italy; the British Museum in London; the Essex Collection in Colcherter, England; Credit Suisse First Boston; Halifax plc; Herbert Smith; Rexam plc in London; Teodore Goddard in Jersey and Pearson plc in New York.
