Half of the speech on the floor - deaf piano makes up the collection of the Figueiredo Ferraz Institute Collection.
In this performance/installation, a pianist plays a series of five compositions by Frederic Chopin on a grand piano. While he plays, two men slowly pour a mixture of hot wax and vaseline into the frame. The more the wax mixture is poured over the piano hammers and strings, the more difficult it becomes for the pianist to play, to the point that the keyboard stops working and the performance comes to an end.
