Institutional Exhibition: Lisbon Natural History Museum

Marcelo Moscheta opens his next solo show "From the Bone Labyrinth of Man to the Rock Axis" at the Lisbon Natural History Museum on Thursday, Fabruary, 22sd.

"On a remote research visit to the Natural History Museum in Lisbon, I found anatomical pieces of the human ear that caught my attention. From them, I create references between the interior and exterior landscapes and put myself in transit, walking from the Labyrinth of Quinta da Regaleira to the Rock of Cabo da Roca. The record of this journey is presented as sound and images, remade inside the exhibition room in a cyclical transfer between inside and outside, the familiar and the strange, the body and space. . For this exhibition called From the Bone Labyrinth of Man to the Axis of the Rock, I present a new drawing technique on slate boards that suggests an encounter with a landscape that reverberates inside and outside the body, a visual experience and at the same time sound and lithic. Anatomical, but no less toponymic."
