Concert for a Cherry Tree, 2022
Created for the Deck Project of the Casa de Cultura do Parque (São Paulo), the installation
occupies a grassy part of the garden, where there is a Rio Grande Cherry Tree - a fruitful and
ornate shrub, originally from South America. It consists of eight music stands and sixteen
enamelled ceramic plates (high-temperature black clay), which received impressions of the
cherry tree branches and leaves. By incorporating the bush, the work raises new ways of
perceiving the place and dialogues with nature, music and time. The choice of clay for the
music scores underlines a dialogue with the earth and with the organic.
