Pedro David, 1977, Santos Dumont, MG, Brazil.
Lives and works between Nova Lima and Belo Horizonte, MG, Brazil.

Photographer/visual artist, graduated in journalism from PUC, MG, 2001, and studied postgraduate studies in plastic arts and contemporaneity at the Guignard School (UEMG, 2002). He is dedicated to interpreting the relationship between man and his environment through various forms of photography, printed photographs, artist's books and, more recently, bronze sculptures.

He has published the books 360 Square Meters (Blue Sky Books, 2015), Fase Catarse (Fundação Municipal de Incentivo à Cultura de Belo Horizonte, 2008), O Jardim (Fundação Cultural do Estado da Bahia, 2012), Rota Raiz (Tempo D'Imagem, 2013) and Paisagem Submersa (Cosac Naify, 2008).

He has had solo shows at the Blue Sky Gallery (Portland - USA, 2015), Galeria Blau Projects (São Paulo, 2016), Galeria Roberto Alban (Salvador - Bahia, 2016), Museu Mineiro (Belo Horizonte, 2014), Museu Provincial de Bellas Artes Franklin Rawson (San Juan - Argentina, 2014), Museu de Arte Moderna da Bahia (Salvador, 2012), Fauna Galeria (São Paulo, 2012), Centro Municipal de Fotografia de Montevideo (Uruguay, 2008), Palácio das Artes (Belo Horizonte - 2008). He has participated in group exhibitions such as Museu de Arte do Rio - MAR, 2017, Festival Fotofest (Houston - USA, 2016), Musée du Quai Branly (Paris - France, 2013), Museu de Arte Contemporânea do Ceará (Fortaleza-CE, 2012) Ex-Teresa arte Actual (Mexico D.F., 2011), Geração 00 (Sesc Belenzinho - São Paulo, 2011); Noordelicht Photogallery (Groningen, Netherlands, 2008), 5th Liége Biennial of Photography and Visual Arts (Mammac - Liége, Belgium, 2006).

Pedro has received the following awards: Conrado Wessel Art Foundation Award - 2012; Funarte Marc Ferrez Photography Award; II and III Itamaraty Contemporary Art Award (2012 and 2013); Arte Pará (2012), Pierre Verger National Photography Award (2011), the Latin Union - Martín Chambi Photography Award (2010) and the Porto Seguro Brasil Photography Award (2005).
