Using a wide range of materials and media, Flávia Bertinato articulates, in her artistic practice, issues such as forms of social interaction, the boundaries between public and private, and allegorical constructions that problematize the female gender.

The artist has participated in artistic residency programs at HANGAR Centro de Investigação Artística, Lisbon (2021); Residência FAAP, São Paulo (2020); Bolsa Pampulha, Museu de Arte da Pampulha, Belo Horizonte (2013); Mergulho Artístico, Oficina Oswald de Andrade, São Paulo (2015). She was nominated for the PIPA Prize (2020) and was awarded the Municipal Law for the Promotion of Culture, Municipal Secretariat of Culture, Belo Horizonte (2019), the CCBB Contemporary Prize, Banco do Brasil Cultural Center, Rio de Janeiro (2015), an acquisition prize from the Pedro Manuel-Gismonti Museum of Art of Ribeirão Preto, MARP (2003), and an acquisition prize from the Young Art Salon of Santos (2001).

Flávia Bertinato has participated in several group and solo exhibitions in art galleries, museums, and institutions, such as the Marília Razuk Art Gallery, the Pampulha Art Museum, the Palace of Arts (Clóvis Salgado Foundation), the São Paulo Cultural Center, CCSP, São Paulo, among others. The artist's works are also part of the collection of the Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo, São Paulo, and the Museum of Contemporary Art of Ceará, MAC, Fortaleza.

Flávia Bertinato has a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from IA/UNESP, a master's degree in Visual Arts from ECA/USP, a doctorate in Visual Arts from EBA/UFMG, and is a professor at Escola Guignard/UEMG.
