Biography

Ponte Nova, Minas Gerais, in 1980. Lives and Works in Belo Horizonte.

He has a Master´s Degree in visual art from the Minas Gerais Federal University. He works at the moment as an artist, a researcher and professor for the federal university of Minas Gerais in the fine art school department. He also joined the diagram arts research group.

His principal exhibits and individual projects were Black House,  Volta NY in New-York city (2018); National Exhibit, in the Luciana Caravello Gallery in Rio de Janeiro (2018); The Book of the Wind, in the Emma Thomas Gallery, New York (2016); Poéticas de uma Paisagem- Memória em Mutação ( Poetics of a Landscape- Mutating Memory ) in the Bank of Brazil Cultural Center, Rio de Janeiro (2016); The House (A Casa), at the Paço das Artes, São Paulo (2007).

He participated in collective exhibits such as: Carioca House at the MAR, Rio de Janeiro (2021), O que Emana da Água (What Emanates from the Water) in the Carbono Gallery, in São Paulo (2017); A Luz que Vela o Corpo é a Mesma que Revela a Tela (The Light that Vales the Body is the same that reveals the screen) In the Caixa Cultural, Rio de Janeiro (2017);  Ao Amor do Público I ( To the Love of the Public I), in the Rio  Art Museum, Rio de Janeiro (2016);  the exhibit Bolsa Pampulha, at the Pampulha Art Museum, Belo Horizonte (2014) and he was awarded by the FOCO  Rio´s International Art, Rio de Janeiro (2013).

 

He also participated in the art residency: Pintura Além da Pintura (Painting Beyond painting), of the CEIA, Belo Horizonte (2006); as well as the 5th edition of the Bolsa Pampulha program, Belo Horizonte (2013); and the Baró residency, São Paulo (2014). Among the latest awards he received are Bolsa Pampulha the 5th edition (2014); 1º Award Foco Bradesco/ArtRio (2013) and the first prize at the contemporary CCBB.
